Does the information stored in Axial Finance remain confidential?
Of course. No information contained in the database is or needs to be transmitted outside the computer. All functions are processed locally. Questions about Stock Prices

Which real-time feed is used by Axial Finance?
Axial Finance uses the ICE Data Services feed.
Can we receive intraday data in 1-minute ticks?
The feed provides all transactions executed on the exchange in true real-time, and the software continuously builds bars from n seconds to n hours, which it stores in its database.
For what duration can we receive intraday history?
The software can receive and keep intraday history for the last 12 months in 1-minute bars.
Does Axial Finance handle futures?
Yes, from the Euronext Derivatives Market, Eurex, CME, and CBOT markets.
Which markets are received as "end-of-day" prices?
European stock exchanges (Euronext, Frankfurt, London, Madrid, Zurich, etc.), North American (NYSE, Nasdaq, Toronto, CME), and Asian exchanges, totaling about forty global exchanges including stocks, indices, trackers, warrants, bonds, commodities, and exchange rates.
Is a subscription required to download prices?
Yes, the subscription depends on the stock exchanges. We offer various subscriptions at very competitive prices depending on the desired exchanges.
How is the price history updated?
Prices update automatically when a chart is displayed, but if you wish to download all prices to work offline later, two methods are available:
  • At the user's express request with a single click. Axial Finance remembers the settings of the previous download and downloads prices for instruments in the selected markets.
  • Fully automatically ("Automatic" mode enabled), prices are then updated when the software opens without user intervention (for "end-of-day" prices only).

Questions about Technical Analysis

What should one know about technical analysis?
Basic concepts of technical analysis are desirable. The design and ergonomics of the software have been specifically studied to facilitate ease of use. Numerous features simplify the creation and use of charts.

Each technical indicator is documented with recommendations on how to interpret it. On the "useful links" page of this site, many books are suggested for those who desire them.
Can one analyze a security simultaneously across multiple timeframes?
Absolutely. For example, for a single security, you can open three chart windows simultaneously, and in each, choose different timeframes (weekly, daily, and 5-min intraday).
Are technical analyses kept in memory?
Yes, and with no limit on the number. Selecting the security in your personal list automatically displays the previously stored study. These studies are preserved with price updates and adapt as they go.
Can one create their own technical indicators?
Yes. On one hand, technical indicators are fully customizable, and the most common ones are used to build rules defining buy-sell conditions. This construction does not require programming language knowledge; it is done graphically following a simple logic. This feature is an innovation developed specifically for Axial Finance.

On the other hand, for users who wish to do so, the Axial Finance Expert version offers the possibility to program custom indicators using the JavaScript language. The JavaScript programming manual is available on our site.
How does one search for buy-sell signals?
Using the market screening function. The user defines their buy-sell rules, chooses the market (for example, SRD), and the price date. Up to 10 rules are analyzed simultaneously, and in a few seconds, a table provides the results for instruments satisfying at least one of the rules.

Questions about Fundamental Analysis

What knowledge is required for fundamental analysis?
To use this module, general notions of financial analysis are sufficient, focused on understanding a few key ratios characteristic of corporate health. "Economic common sense" is an excellent guide for selecting companies.
How to obtain financial data and forecasts for companies?
Several websites in France and abroad publish this information. The user enters the data for companies of interest into the software and can thus track their evolution and compare financial ratios between companies.
For what purpose is fundamental analysis used?
Fundamental analysis aims to analyze a company's accounts over several years to assess the relevance of its strategy through the resulting performance, as well as its positioning relative to its competitors.

This analysis helps identify companies that have a relatively low stock market valuation and among the best profit prospects. The investment horizon is medium or long-term. Subsequently, coupling this with graphic analysis allows for a more precise choice of the day to place the order.
How to study a specific group of companies?
The user groups companies at will to compare them in terms of economic performance. In particular, Axial Finance graphically presents the result of various comparisons, allowing for quick and easy identification of companies to recommend or avoid.

Questions about Markets and Financial Instruments

In France, can we also have SICAVs, FCPs, Bonds, Trackers, or Warrants?
Absolutely, provided that the prices of these securities are available in the subscription taken for downloading, which is the case for a large number of securities.
Alternatively, it is possible to import prices stored in a text or Excel file, price files which are available on certain websites for these securities.
What instruments are accessible on foreign exchanges?
In principle, all those from stock and index markets. Axial Finance has a complete list for each exchange, known as the reference list, which is updated automatically upon opening the software. However, in the event a security is missing, it can be added manually by the user with the code used (ISIN and/or ticker) on that exchange.
Can a single portfolio contain instruments from different exchanges?
Yes, even for stock exchanges outside the Eurozone. The evaluation of portfolio performance then takes into account the exchange rates updated by the user.
How to handle a new security listed on the exchange?
Two possibilities:
  • On one hand, as a free service available to all users, the software is updated automatically at each startup from a central database managed by Ariane Software.
  • On the other hand, the user also has the possibility to enter a new security into the software. Such a security is called a "personal security" and is listed in red in the instrument list. For this, the ISIN code or ticker of the security is required for identification.
How to update my personal instrument lists?
So-called personal lists allow the user to select the instruments or markets that interest them specifically, thus avoiding being overwhelmed by the thousands of instruments present in the software's reference list. Creating or modifying personal lists (unlimited in number) is simple using the management window for these lists.
